1853 ARROWS & RAYS SEATED HALF DOLLAR PCGS MS 61 WONDERFULLY RADIANT AND MOSTLY MARK FREE. A bit of glossiness on the high points, and perhaps some die clash in the fields contributing to this very stingy grade.

This Philly emission is a one year Type, and virtually the only collectible date/mint, with the 1853 O being prohibitively rare in mint state. With a relatively robust mintage of 3,532,708, mint state examples are much scarcer than one would expect. At PCGS, there are but 14 in MS61 and 406 higher.

At NGC, the numbers are 38 and 239. When using the population numbers, most folks would automatically assume that they are overstated, but by how much is anyone's guess. Nice strike and luster, dusty silver/white with creme and espresso on the rims. A perfect example to represent this iconic Type.
